Why eFamilyVault?
Imagine being away from home and an earthquake, fire, hurricane or other disaster strikes.
What if you could not get to your home to retrieve vital insurance information and an inventory
of the contents of your home for insurance purposes? What about vital records, such as birth
certificates and wills? Would you be able to list all of the items you own, and the dollar
value for each item lost?
Or if there were a burglary at your home and some of your possessions were taken, would you be
able to quickly determine exactly what was missing? It may be months before you realize that a
particular item is gone. (It's better to know what was taken immediately, than to realize
your camera is missing the next time you want to use it!)
As the Katrina disaster has shown, even keeping your inventory in a safe deposit box in your
local bank provides no assurance that this information is safe or easily retrieved. The same
flood or fire that damages your home could easily do the same to your bank, your lawyer's
office, or your accountant's office.
To facilitate the recovery and/or insurance claim process, it is essential that you have a
comprehensive, accessible, household inventory of your possessions. A completed eFamilyVault
Household Inventory will help you manage and securely store the identies of your possessions.
eFamilyVault provides an off-site, accessible, secure repository of information about your
home and possessions, including:
Insurance company names, contact numbers, and policy numbers;
An itemized record of the contents of your home;
Photos and videos of the contents and possessions within your home;
Appraisals of specific items, with the appraiser's name, address and date of appraisal;
Serial numbers of "Theft Prone" items so that they can be identified more easily if stolen; and
Scanned images of important documents.
With photographs and videos of each room and the contents of cabinets and closets stored in your
eFamilyVault inventory, you can quickly determine what is missing or has been destroyed. These
records can also provide proof of ownership for recovery or for insurance claims.
Finally, while others may provide similar services, eFamilyVault is the logical option: simple,
secure, and most of all, affordable.
